Hi everyone-- I just had my gallbladder out and was feeling great, but I think my Miralax is giving me horrble gas pains-- I wake in the middle of the night and my whole chest and stomach is tight and sore... I can't fall back asleep and it's terrible! I don't really think I need the miralax anymore b/c of the post-surgery diarrea that I'm prone to... anyone have any suggesstions? I'm so worried about stopping miralax and getting really C again. Does this gas pain sound familiar to anyone? I was doing SO great after the surgery until yesterday...:(
Thanks guys

Maybe you can try going without it for a few days and see what happens. When I first started miralax, I would get horrible cramping the first couple days, I think I was adjusting to it, and then never again since. Maybe that's what's happening also. Try without it and maybe increase some fiber and see what happens. How long has it been since the surgery?

Hi Aly, Yes, it's quite commom to get gas pains and bad cramping when you first start Miralax. It took me over a
month to get used to it. However, if you're having D, you
don't need to use it, it will just compound the D. -Bob

...if not cut it out completely as with the D and the Miralax, you are at high risk of being dehydrated! If you're having D you should not need Miralax.

I'd say you probably need to re-evaluate all your meds and possibly your diet now you are post-surgery.
