Lately, when I have my first morning BM, there's usually one piece that's really long. I'm actually really stable lately, but I thought the long poo thing was kinda weird. Is it anything to be concerned about?

my usual thought this things like this is if you feel okay, then it's probably not a problem. if there's pain, straining, or cramps going along with it, something might be wrong.

I agree. No pain or straining, then you should be okay.

I'm with everyone else--as long as there's no pain, straining, blood, spazzing, etc., I wouldn't worry too much.
I get long BM's too, sometimes.

Has anyone ever had stool that didn't come out in one peice? ..Like, little balls, or marbles? Or, all in one peice, but very lumpy where you can actually see undigested food in one area?

Yeah, I've had that before...marbles, identifiable bits of carrots. Marbles for me are usually related to peas and carrots, but not always.

That's kinda what I figured - no pain, no problem. It's just impressive yet gross on the length.
Guess I'll mention it anyway to ye olde GI doc when I see him later this week for my "2 month follow-up appointment" that's actually three and a half months after my 'scopes.

I've heard Dr.M.OZ (book-YOU THE OWNER'S MANUAL) say that the unbroken BM is a good thing, Marbles not so good! And I think it really is a good sign that your emptying your colon in a healthy manner.

Good to know I'm not the only one and that it's a sign of good health. I've noticed when I'm stable I get really long ones too. Like a rope, but not braided or hairy. It would be unbelievable if I weren't experiencing it for myself.

Think that's the rare thing called "complete evacuation".

I usually have long ones first in the morning, but I have to strain to get it started.

I like the long ones, if they're long like a tree trunk. Sometimes I get long and skinny ones that bother me, but I haven't figured out what causes them or if they're bad.. Sometimes I wish I could show off my poo, when I have a particularly good one. Thank goodness I live by myself, apparently it's not the done thing in good social circles!
I wouldn't worry too much either.
