I see on your brand name recommendation list that Celestial Seasonings is the only brand listed for chamomile tea. I have GERD as well as IBS-D so I have tried no other teas. I have only found the 20 ct box of Celestial Seasonings and was wondering if anyone knows if it can be bought safely in bulk or in a higher quantity of bags?

If you check any box you find for triggers then it should be fine! That list is just personally recommended stuff, not the be-all-and-end-all of safe foods!

Did you find the 40 bag boxes in a grocery store? I have checked Walmart, Smiths and Albertson's which are the only stores where I live. I even googled it and only found the 20 bag boxes which were much more exptensive than in the store.

You could certainly buy bulk chamomile (or peppermint or fennel) and it will be just fine. Personally, I don't like plain chamomile but I do like the Honey Vanilla Chamomile from Celestial Seasonings.

I need to check different stores I think. I didn't even know they made anything but plain chamomile. I do thank you for your information.

Here I went to find you info on Honey Vanilla Chamomile, and I found a whole bunch of new chamomile-based teas at Celestial Seasonings!
Sweet Apple Chamomile
Sweet Clementine Chamomile
Apple Banana Chamomile
Honey Vanilla Chamomile
Sleepytime (chamomile and spearmint)
So it looks like you have many many options here!

Oh how very sweet of you....I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you have done for me. I am so new to all this and have been on such a restrictive diet until I learn more and was really getting tired of the same thing day after day after day. Your time and effort has given me a boost to go on and broaden my my knowledge and excitement in that I can enjoy eating and drinking (not alcholic stuff) while living with IBS-D. Thank you again.

Aw, thanks! It wasn't any problem at all, and I'll bet that with GERD you're not wanting to try just any herbal tea out there.
If you're interested, you might want to post a new query for GERD folks about some of the other non-medicinal fruit teas out there. There's a Lipton's apple-cinnamon tea that's really nice for fall, for example. I *think* any herbal tea without mint or ginger should be fine for GERD, but I don't actually know that for sure.

I knew to stay away from the peppermint tea or pills, but do you know anything about the fennel and GERD?

I don't think fennel is a problem, but I don't have GERD and so haven't followed the conversations about it all that closely. The only problematic ones I remember hearing about are ginger and mint.
But I'm sure you could search for fennel and GERD or start a new discussion about it and get the straight scoop from the local experts here!
