They're not actually chicken. They're a soy-based (I think!) meat substitute that tastes like chicken... and they really are really good!

the name is actually 'chik patties'... or maybe 'chik'n,' but i think it's 'chik.' they're amazingly good. though i haven't been able to find them lately, which makes me very very sad.

I think they changed them or something, because neither me or my mother can eat them anymore, but I used to love'em.

about a year ago they changed the recipe - i noticed the difference mostly in the breading, which was supposed to be crispier, but i just noticed that the breading was made of larger crumbs.

I thought they tasted somewhat "spicy" the last time I tried them and I was very unstable, like I am now....so, they didn't go over well and I probably won't touch them from now on because of that ATTACK they gave me!!

they're also a little high in fat - but not nearly as bad as the garden brand breaded fake chicken patties. those have, like, 9 or 12 grams each. i think the morningstar ones were around 3 or 4. and tasted better.
