Just wondering if anyone knows if prunes/prune juice is ok for IBS constipation. Does it make it worse or not?

I'm not sure about prune juice; someone else will have to answer that one for you. Prunes, on the other hand, are insoluble fiber and should be eaten according to the IBS diet guidelines in order to be safe. As long as you eat them safely, they should help, not hurt.

Stephanie; I find the new plumsmart juice to be better tolerated than prune juice. I dilute it and mix my acacia in it...it has herbs in it to help with cramps, gas, etc. When I'm stable I'm an A, but can swing to D pretty easily. If I remember , it also has a prebiotic in it as well. Hope this helps... Terri

You know what's weird, sometimes I'll eat a couple prunes and nothing will happen. People always make it like prunes are laxatives, but they don't affect me that way. They also don't bother my IBS, but I'm more on the stable side.

Hi...Plumsmart is made by sunsweet, has ginger and chamomile, and chicory(as a prebiotic). It has 3 gr of fiber, although I'm not sure which type. I'm guessing sf because it doesn't bother my IBS. I think it's definitely worth a try...it's 100% juice, and the ingredients look safe enough. I'd love to hear what others have to say about this... Have a great day! Terri

I get it from a regular grocery store in the juice aisle. I'm in St. Louis, and it's at my local "shop-n-save". I'm sure the other chain stores have it too. It's around 3 dollars and there's always a coupon on the underside of the label for a dollar off the next bottle.
