probiotics: take when and with what?

I have a probiotic that I should take one capsule of every day with a meal. I was thinking breakfsat would be best, but then I thought that the hot oatmeal might destroy some of the bacteria. Am i just being silly or could this actually happen? I don't even eat my cooked oatmeal very hot.

I think you should be fine  I have some with breakfast as well- usually hot oatbran. (not piping hot..)

I take mine first thing in the morning about 30-45 minutes before I eat because it says to take on an empty stomach, BUT my son takes his with his evening meal. I think it mostly depends on the brand as to when to take it. With food...shouldn't bother the strength if it is enteric coated.

I take mine about 10 min before breakfast -- but mine are enteric coated -- so I don't think it matters.
