Ok....I have to ask because I had this happen to me today at lunch while at the grocery store and also the other day when I was out shopping.
All of a sudden my stomach rumbled and I felt like I had to "toot" but was afraid to (silently of course) because usually that urge means a major emergency trip to the restroom. So I cut my shopping trip short and (today) went right back to the office and discreetly huried into the restroom and nothing but air. It happened the other day while I was shopping, too. Almost like I get into a state of panic rather than realizing it's only gas. You know what I mean?

That used to happen to me all the time when I had a lot of attacks & anxiety, but thankfully it stopped when I started getting the IBS under control & especially when I got the anxiety under control with the hypno.

Thanks Mags....I think that is the main problem right now. I have a lot of stress and anxiety in my life right now. Wish I could get it under control and not be such a worrier.

Have you ever thought about the Audio 100 cd's? They are great for anxiety & stress. And IBS of course!

Are those the hypnosis tapes everyone is talking about? A bit out of my price range and I don't know when I'd have time to use them. Any suggestions? When do you take time to use them?

Yeah, I was concerned about the price too, but they are so worth it! I tell everyone that if you save $1 a day for 100 days (the length of the program), you're covered. I used them when I went to bed. Most of the time I fell asleep while listening to them, but they still worked.

How long did it take you to notice a difference? I don't think my husband would like to listen to them as I go to bed. I'd have to find another time.

I think it was a about a month when I thought I noticed a difference. It's weird, because when it's happening, you're not sure if it's really happening or not. It's really hard to describe, but I've seen others who were going through it experience this same thing.

I listened with headphones, so no one else had to listen.

If you do eventually decide to do them, let me know.

I know what you mean. I don't dare try to pass wind or as my gramma used to say " let it out" , less pain" I usually head to the bathroom, because you never know!! But yes it is usually wind.

I know how you feel about the gas-what does everyone do about the smell and sometimes I pass gas with no warning?
