As far as I'm concerned, there are no safe rice cakes. They're all made of brown rice.

in my experience- rice cakes(unless stated whole grain or made with brown rice..check the ingredients) are fine. Heather mentions them to be an acceptable food.

however, its all personal as well. Some of us are less tolerante, some moreso.

thanks, all the ones here do say brown rice. I guess I will have to keep looking or even ask the grocer if he can bring one in that isn't brown rice. Any suggestions of good ones that most other places carry?

Have you checked Sobeys? in there natural foods section they have a variety of kinds, as well as corn cakes. I think that Quaker rice cakes are white rice arent they?

I have checked Sobeys as there is one RIGHT beside my work. I walk over there almost daily, lol. The one beside my work is smaller though, with a VERY small health food section 1/2 of one isle. I will check the bigger one. I thought I checked the Quacker ones, will check again though.

I didn't have much luck finding any yet. Some are corn, and many contain dairy. I guess I'll stick with other SF snacks.
Good luck! Emily
