Had IBS-D for many years which now has turned into IBS-C also. It has made it so much worse for me to function; which is what brought me to this website. I just did the days of SF and did not have any attacks, yet nothing has happened, which probably means constipation is back. I need to add other foods, and I'm wondering if this would be the time to try something like lettuce and non-fat dressing. I appreciate all ideas.

I'm not too sure if lettuce is such a good idea..it makes me so sick. Just follow the diet and try to get some IF in you and hopefully you'll be feeling better. I'm IBS-D but its such a pain when I become C.. Good luck!!

Thanks. Guess I'll skip the lettuce and look for other things to eat. I'm desperate to be able to function again.

I'm Shannon. I'm an A-but I tend towards C. When I get very constipated while following the diet, two things save my life: TONS AND TONS OF WATER, and a really good probiotic. It makes everything flush out. it's super.HTH, and if all else fails, use an enema. it's uncomfortable at first but you don't hurt, and you poop FAST.
