Hi Everyone and thaks to all who helped me re my first question "IBS and nervouse breakdown". I am finding that I am becoming intolerant to more and more foods it now includes: Dairy produce, caffeine, eggs, most meats ( except skinless chicken breast), wheat and cellulose which is found in fruits and vegatables that have skin and contain pips!
I saw my gastroenterologist this week and found out I had lost a further 12 pounds in 4 weeks and yet my trowsers get tighter through bloating and tenderness. Does anyone have ways of controlling the bloating, I have IBS D.
The good news is he has put me on some medication that he has been trying with several patients with good success, it is SODIUM CROMOGLYCATE. I have to take 200mg 4 times a day before food. After 2 weeks I have to slowly try some of the foods that I cannot cope with now and see if I can tolerate them. To date he has had great success and one patient who has been on it 6 months has reintroduced most foods without problems. If it works the tablets will be for life but hey anything is better than the IBS. I hope this information helps others.
The other point he made is that the "Tricyclic" group of antidepressants also helps IBS, but for some reason I cannot be prescribed them.
Love and Best Wishes
