Hi, Is canned fruit ok? Has anybody tried them and how do they react? I am having a hard time getting enough fibre thought the canned fruit might be a good way.

Thanks Gail

I always pack canned fruit in my lunches for work. I buy the fruit packed in juice or extra light or light syrup (made with sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup). I like peaches and I can handle mandarin oranges, but I know that's not true for everyone. I don't like pears, but they should be safe. Avoid pineapple! It's too stringy (= too much insoluble fiber).

I have found that I can tolerate canned fruits. I dont eat in large amounts, I eat a small can every other day and sometimes each day. I dont feel any particular food except salads ( which I love and so much miss eating) cause a flare up. Its when I eat any-one thing in large amounts or too often. Stress is definitly a trigger for me. Hope your doing alright.
