How often do you BTC?

As my silly gut is really acting up right now after a month of begin fairly decent, it got me wondering how often everyone has to BTC to get their system back on track.
I know it seems like that I only really start over when my system gets really out of control (cramping, nausea, diarrhea and unfortunately tonight...vomiting from the pain). This seems to wind up being every two months in looking back at my food/gut journal.
Here's hoping I am back on the right track soon for my system!

If I have a really bad attack, I tend to go back to BTC just for that day. If it's a morning attack, I'm usually eating pretty normally by dinnertime. I don't do BTC for very long at all anymore.
I tend to have to do that about once a month these days - what attacks I do have still are usually related to my period, so eating BTC doesn't really seem to make a difference one way or the other, I mostly just do it because I don't feel like eating anything else when that happens.

I never do it and never have. I up my fiber and water intake when I feel crummy and then just eat what makes me feel better. When sick with a cold this means sherbet. Other times it includes spicy food if that is what I planned to make for dinner- I stick with my plans most of the time. So this is bad but just being honest.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I'm bad too, but it's that I probably BTC too often and I use it as a preventative. I haven't had a bad attack since February or March, but I'll follow the BTC guidelines during my period and during times of high stress (like when my grandfather recently passed away or the day before and of a road trip).

I feel pretty out of the loop, because I can't figure out what BTC stands for, but I'm assuming from the context that you're referring to going back to the what-to-eat-when-you-can't-eat-anything-else diet. I also do it just after I have an attack, which were very few and far between for a long time but have been much more frequent lately. As a matter of fact, I'm back to that diet right now, since I had an attack Sunday night. I haven't eaten anything more than toast, Honeycombs with rice milk, and a plain grilled chicken breast on bread since then. I usually go back to eating this way for a day or two after an attack, just until my body tells me it feels up to other foods again. It also depends on the severity of the attack. But no, I don't think it's silly to go back to eating like that from time to time when your body needs it. Sometimes we just need a break.
