Before starting on this plan one of my favourite drinks when is season was a watermelon smoothy just WM put in a blender nothing else, anyway a friend who I had not seen for a while popped in this morning with the biggest WM I've ever seen the result is now I have 3x 2litre bottles of liquidised WM in my fridge & I need some ideas as to what I can do with it whats safe? if there is something I can do to freeze it for later all the better! Watermelon is like any other insoluble fiber food - you can eat it, but eat it AFTER a good base of soluble fiber. So you *might* be able to do your smoothies like you used to, but have them after a meal, and whatever you do, don't sip through a straw.
I find watermelon extremely hard to digest - just a warning. I mean, I can even eat corn without any problems, but just the tiniest bit of watermelon doubles me over with gas pains. So be careful!

I don't use straws but why can't you sip it through one? Helen

It causes you to swallow more air, and potentially that leads to trapped gas in the gut.

I can eat watermelon after a high SF meal with no trouble, but I've been pretty stable for a while now. If you're not pretty stable, I'd be super cautious. I'm pretty sure you can freeze watermelon chunks, but I don't know about watermelon puree. Do you think you'd like a smoothie with banana and watermelon - heavy on the banana to add SF?

The last time I had watermelon, I peed the bed (honestly)! Melons in general cause me HUGE pain so I avoid them at all costs. They either make me vomit or give me abominable gas spasms.
I'd bring it to a party and make some sort of slushy drink.
