newbie: travelling - wrong time to start SFS?

Hi! I'm slowly stabilising on BTC, although I'm finding I'm more C than usual (it's normally totally D) without too much pain. However, I'm going away on a trip for five days and my Acacia has just been delivered - since I have anxiety issues about travelling I'm expecting this to get more D. My question is: Should I start a teeny dose of the SFS now or wait until I return frm the trip? One the one hand, if it makes me ill then that would seriously down my trip (and confirm my fears) on the other hand, if it works then it could make the whole trip easier... My tummy is sensitive but is responding to Buscopan and a diet mostly without IF. I'm really grateful for your views or own experiences, thanks, Katherine

Personally I would stick with the btc diet whilst you are away (as best as possible) and start the Acacia as per instructions when you are home again. This is basically what I did last October having found this site, I was due to go away and was very careful with my food choices whilst away and then started the Acacia when I got home. Judith

Thanks Judith - it's great to hear from other UK people! I think you're probably right - keep things pretty much stable for the travelling, try new things out when in the privacy of own home etc. Have you found that this diet and the acacia has sorted out your problems? I'm nothing like as bad as some people on the site, although occasionally I try to rise to the challenge. (I think the worst time I ever had was at a castle in Wales, where the subterranean bathroom was my home for about an hour while the poor DH wandered around the battlements - my B&B lady had made my porridge with /cream/) I should have been clearer I suppose... Please send positive vibes/thoughts/prayers for this trip - I'm hoping it's the last one where I'll be more scared of my guts than flying
Thanks again, Katherine
