I started out with IC about 20 yrs. ago. It comes and goes into remission and at times can greatly interfere with daily activities. Since the IBS attacks have started coming it has really limited my activities. I'm also a lot more tired all the time. I would much rather work but having IBS "C" and doubling over, vomiting from pain, etc. at the most inopportune times is keeping me from going back to work. I would love to work even just part time but with this condition it's unpredictable and I am therefore unreliable as I never know exactly if/when it's going to hit.
It has been suggested that I think of going on Disability which is hard for me to swallow. Too much pride, I think when all I've known is working all my life.
If I do go through with this, once the process is started whose responsibility is it to come up with all past records? I only have a few that verify my conditions. What can I expect?
Hey there. Man, you sound like you are having a tough go of it. Don't worry about pride - wouldn't you rather have a paycheck than not? I haven't been in your position so I can't really say, but I would think a note from a doc would do it. Hang in there. Life will get better!
