Fiber One cereal?

I purchased some Fiber One cereal to eat this week in combination with a pure SF food. Now i'm having second thoughts about it; I've heard from forum members that a bran cereal can either help or hurt the cycle, from what I understand. This is the order I ate my breakfast in, so maybe you could tell me if this is the correct way to diet:
Rice and potatoes Banana shake 1 bowel of the Fiber One Cereal
Now the Fiber One cereal already has 14 grms of fiber in it, and I also started with the lowest quantity of Heather's Arcania powder. This is still okay though right? I just want to make sure I'm not over doing it, but I'm scared that I haven't had enough insoluble fiber in my diet now that people are telling me you need both to live.
Thanks again, Chris

Ooooooooouuuuch!!!! Just thinking about Fiber One cereal is painful. I got really backed up one time and tried some Bran Flakes - BIG MISTAKE!! I was sick for 3 days. Waaay too much fiber at one time for me. Also, I have heard that bran is really harsh on the intestins. I don't want to completely discourage you, but that was my experience, everyone is different.
What does everyone else think??

Oh no! Well thank you for telling me that... I guess I can stick with just plain ol oatmeal in the morning. I was just trying to find something that had a good amount of ISF that would go down easy with my SF in the morning.

Here's a link to another post on this cereal, in case your interested. Fiber One cereal
Bottom line, it is harsh whole grain and contains artificial sweetner, which could both cause problems.

How about just adding some fruit to your morning oatmeal? It would be tastier, healthier, and less processed than the fiber cereal. Peaches are just coming into season where I live - yum!
You could also try having some whole wheat toast as an IF source.

Fiber One could quite likely -- no almost definitely -- harm your IBS. Bran is severe IF and often causes painful symptoms. Maybe try and squeeze in IF via fruits/veggies? It's a lot more gentle, plus is full of antioxidants and accompanies SF colourfully! It's a lot more gentle, too and well cooked (I even puree) it's pretty safe depending on how stable you are. Try a smoothie or a soup or a sauce or accompanying it with cereal or in a baked item?

If she took it after a soluble fiber? Or is it still to harsh? I used to eat this every morning..or All Bran, and it did help me go...I'm so tempted to eat it again...but scared now that I have read the site.
Has anyone had success with this or another high fiber food like this?
I have also seen Tortilla's with 8 grams of fiber per piece, nd it comes form Oat fiber, not whole wheat. Maybe this would be safe? Or is still too much fiber at once with the toppings of veggies?
