Hi everyone...
I understand that we need to drink a lot of water. But sometimes I need something else to drink (other than tea). Any advice on drinks? I like to make homemade lemonade (real lemons, sugar and water) is that safe? I guess I am not clear on how sugar affects our tummys. Does the acid from lemons and oranges have a negative effect as well? Also, what about flavored ice teas like peach snaple (I know no artificial sweetners) and "all natural" drinks?
Any advice?
Thanks Olivia

There are some good recipes for homemade drinks such as a peach lemonade in Eating for IBS. Cranberry juice is usually quite safe too.
The key is really the timing. The homemade lemonade with a meal of good SF base would probably be OK but on an empty stomach might be a different story!
I would avoid any iced tea with caffeine in it as caffeine is a huge trigger. Iced herbal tea is nice. Definately avoid carbonated drinks and alcohol.
Hope this helps,
Kerrie
