As I read more and more I realize I have somewhat mild symptoms compared to many here. For instance, I could eat everything on the trigger list daily, but only have an attack maybe once a week or every two weeks, but it sounds like some of you have an attack if you consume any of the listed triggers. So do some people have varying sensitivities to the triggers? Does anyone here routinely avoid only some of the triggers, but do fine on a diet that includes others?

Also, my Dr. says this is something that can come and go over time, sort of like it goes into remission. Has this happened for anyone?

thanks!

IBS severity varies and the trigger tolerances tend to vary with that. Also some people are more or less intolerant of many triggers compared to other people anyway.

IBS can wax and wane. I'm not sure I'd say it goes into remission - certainly doesn't with me, only doesn't bother me for a while if I'm careful. Maybe it would with not so severe IBS?
