I'm not sure if there's many who know this or not, so i thought i'd post it. Trader Joes and possibly whole foods sells something called "better n' peanut butter" for 2 tablespoons it has 2.5 grams fat and 100 calories. And i've had it--its very tasty! A little milder in flavor than regular pb, but still good. It doesn't bother my tummy at all-- They have low-sodium version too!!! here's a link to check it out If you can tolerate low fat nut butters, this is for you!! Enjoy!!

Thanks - I'm getting quite a little list of "things to check out at Whole Foods".
BTW, how do you pronounce your name?

It does contain soy flour which can cause gastric distress in some. Worse than normal soy milk and soy proteins. I read this in Dr. Weil's book and also in a celiac cooking book, as soy flour is often a substitute in GF foods. Maybe over time your body would adjust to it?
I bought this product at TJ and ended up not using it after I read the warnings about soy flour. But you guys know me by now....I'm afraid of everything, if I read negative stuf about it!
If anyone else tries it, let us know how you fare with it. Maybe it would be easier for those who already are used to soy in form of milk or tofu.

-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I never had a problem with soy, so maybe if you do, it wouldn't be the best. But the better n' peanut butter doesn't bother mer at all. Maybe you can try a little bit on something safe, like a rice cracker? You can probably get it may other stores under the name "peanut wonder" too. --oh, and my name is pronounced mahh-ie-ko (maikko) hth!!

I always keep a couple of jars of this at home to eat and have never had a problem with it. REgular pb would probably taste alittle weird to me right now! if you go with a thin spread of it at first you should be fine.
Be careful, it is addicting!

also been eating soy products this whole time? Maybe it is easier if you've already been eating soy.
Thanks for the words of confidence, Sheri! I need to get over my food phobia. But it's hard when I'm still hurting and not able to stablize. Everything becomes suspect.
