Hungry all the time!!

I was diagnosed with IBS over 2 years ago now. And then, about 2 months ago, I was diagnosed with GERDS (which, is under control, and I'm off the Prevacid). Now, it seems I get hungry so much!! And its such a different feeling then I had before, if that makes sense. I knew that an empty stomach was an IBS trigger, so I would snack on stuff (usually pretzels) thoughtout the day. Now, after suggestions on this board, I've been adding some Luna Bars in there. But it just seems nothing stays with me very long. I feel like I'm eating all the time, and I think I've even gained a few pounds. I swear, the empty stomach feeling I get now is different then what I had before I was diagnosed with GERDS. ANYWAYS! Does anyone have any suggestions for what they snack on, and keeps them full for at least a little while??? Thanks!!! (I did a search on this, but couldn't really find what I was looking for.)

I think you're on the right track. Luna bars and pretzels are a great choice. Also, don't eat big meals. Decrease your portions and eat several small meals throughout the day. Don't let your stomach a chance to get empty. Protein is also a great tummy filler and will help you feel full. If you can have a fat free turkey sandwich, or add some reduced fat peanut butter to a snack/meal, or if you can tolerate a few nuts, try 6-12 almonds at a time. This will help you feel more full. But be careful with the nuts. They can be a trigger, so make sure you chew them very thoroughly and have them with some soluble fibre.

my goodness. . . how did you come about being hungry all the time? i wish i could feel that. i need to gain weight anyways. i feel full very easily and get sick of eating. i wish i could feel hungry all the time. any insight?
