Hi there, Iam new to the board. I have been suffering from IBS for over the 4-5 months. I have recently been diagnosed and have started zelnorm. I have been following the body for life diet over the past 2 months, in which i take in high quantities of protein and my symptoms seem to be getting worse, but im not sure what exactly its from.(I have been under alot of stress lately)My worst symptom is constant gas, i mean its horrible, i dont even want to go out anymore, or even to work because its so bad. I have read through this website and there is plenty of helpful information.I didnt realize how many foods i was eating that maybe i shouldnt have been. I eat really healthy, I have 2 very large salads everyday, which now that ive read this site, could be causing some of my problems? I make them with spinach, and every veggie you can think of. Iam going to stop taking whey proteins,so my question is this, would soy or hemp proteins be more tolerable? or is a high protein diet just simply a bad idea.I would appreciate any advice!!!!

Lots oif protein is fine with IBS, but you just have make sure you're getting it safely. With the protein powders, check for triggers (obviously whey is bad! ) and check the fat content of the shakes you make. Otherwise, lots of chicken and fish helps.
You just have to follow the guidelines re. SF and IF and cut out all triggers. So stop the salads for a bit and then try ones with lots of SF and safer IF...cooked veggies are safer than raw for example.
