hey cyndy--
im gonna check out both those pages in depth when i get home later. when i mentioned magnesium and psyllium to my doc, he said to beware of the mag as it has more of a lax.effect. when i suggested its use in milk-of-magnesia, he agreed that the effects are related. he didnt really say anything about the psyllium but im guessing he didnt know all the much about it too--as he was clueless on acacia. needless to say he recommended i *stay* on my current SFS [fibercons and jewel stool softener] but im quickly leaning towards a big fat NO b/c they really are not helping!

i DO feel like a clogged sink--even my gas feels clogged! if you can imagine that feeling--im sure you can we all can! im taking 2 TBSP/acacia per day. i usually mix it in tea but the past few days ive been adding it into a FF soy-fruit smoothie b/c its just easier. my tea takes too long to heat up and cools off way to fast. im not sure how many fiber grams of acacia that is but you may be right about me having too much fiber! ive been notorious for getting clogged w/too many fibercons and not enough stool softeners. i really dont want to take them anymore b/c they dont taste and feel very natural at all to me or my body!

i only recently came across the fiber bars so im still doing trial-and-error with them. i dont like the choc.one b/c its too rich and the others are made with walnuts but i figured the fiber-count is too good to compare so im trying to deal with the walnuts given the small amount in the actual bar. i went to renew lifes website to check out some other products looking for a natural cleansing so i dont feel like im hurting my bod more with harsh lax effects and i came across a fiberSMART powder and a 2-step program called Intestinal Bowel Support [IBS hehe] but i think my problem is more about C. getting thru the C is my first prob to tackle. i think the fiber powder will do nicely and its vegan which suites me perfectly i also saw a gasSTOP pill that i may try too if i cant rid myself of this horrid gas! the capsule is made of vegetables instead of gelatin so i can use that one too!!

as for the half-SF-half-IF, i think thats a good combo and would like to learn more about it. personally ive never had troubles with IF foods like lettuce, raw tomatoes, apple skins or juice so maybe im approaching this all wrong. what is psyllium and how do i take it? is it a powder i can mix into water/juice/tea?? im going to be trying the granny-smith apple juice, if you saw that post, b/c i really need to get all *this* out of me! i feel so uncomfortable!! posting really helps me stay in tune with my healing path so ill try to post as much as i can and hopefully between all of those things, i can find a solution and hopefully it would/could work for you too!! sorry about the long post but thanks for giving me so much information! ill talk to you soon!

If you're really keen on it, go buy a bag of organic grannies and do it first thing in the a.m. Reminder: slug it back a.s.a.p., i.e. straight after juicing before it has a split second to turn brown. Don't o.d. on the stuff, though. I expect that a one time a.m. shot will do the job. You'll know by how your body responds. Re: peeling the apples. My juicer doesn't require me to peel apples; it does a great job at separating all that stuff. Just cut and core. One thing that I like to do to alkalize my system is to drink the juice of a lemon upon waking and before meals.
Green apple is a really good cleanser--it has to be green.

One note re: soy. It is known to be really constipating for some individuals. I just thought I'd mention this because you seem to consume a lot of soy. Note: I am not being critical, just observational.

how much juice do you need to drink? Or how many green apples should you use?

i think the recipe said 3-4 small-medium sized apples??? you could probably eye-ball it though when you have the apples next to your juicer.

I think it has to do with the acidity and it's cleansing effect on the gallbladder/liver, etc. I'm not sure precisely though. I think it also may be related to the apple cider vinegar treatment/cure that some swear by. The juice is high in pectins and enzymes...it's not fermented the way vinegar is. It's kind of the physical effect of cleaning the body the way you might clean a kettle or a coffee pot--good for removing residue without harming the lining. At least that was my experience. The juice sort of
harnesses and traps old crap/particles. You know how grannies smell clean? Just be sure to drink it straight away, before it turns brown. It's quite a "live" juice. Wait a second, I think green apples may be high in malic acid? I'm not sure. Let me know how it goes, should you do it.

For gas I use 1 tsp. Cumin with 1/4 tsp. coriander powder with a touch of stevia for sweetener in warm water and GULP. It REALLY works for me. Give it a try

I drink it either when I'm having alot of gas to calm everything down and when I know I have to be around a lot of people and don't want to take any chances. It helps with the bloating as well. No it doesn't taste the best but I just stick it in about 4 oz of water and drink the gritty stuff down. If that doesn't totally work for you there is one more herb you can add the it but I have never had too. Good luck. I know how uncomfortable that symtom can be-:
Take care

Isn't this herb too "spicey" for our systems? I don't get along with spices so well. Can you handle other spices? Maybe it's only an option for those who can handle spices?

Hope not, because I would love to try this! My gas and bloat is outrageous.
