I know most people suggest fennel tea for bloating. I haven't had much success with it myself. Is there a brand that is stronger than another? Or are the seeds grounded up in a mortar and pestle more potent and effective?
I have bought the seeds in bulk and they don't seem very strong so maybe they are stale. And I like the covenience of the tea bags, but the Altiva tea bags (only fennel tea bags I can find) are not individually sealed, so, I'm thinking they are also losing potency.
Anyone find one brand of fennel, or one form of fennel, that is more potent or works better? What kind do you fennel drinkers drink?

I ordered Heather's stuff. It's whole seeds. It's the only straight fennel I've used, so I really can't compare.
I also use Good Earth brand Good Night herbal tea. It's minty and also tastes like there's fennel in there. If you're not a big fan of straight fennel tea (I'm not), it's a good alternative.

Heather's fennel is way fresher (and so stronger) than any tea or seeds I've found in a shop. Having tried Heather's, that stuff seems fossilised in comparison!

Do most of you use Heather's brand of fennel? Is the loose tea more potent than the new tea bags? How do they compare price wise? Is the loose tea the better deal, do you think? How much loose would equal one tea bag?
Thanks

I've heard that Heather's teas are much stronger than what you'll normally get in the store. I plan on trying her peppermint tea next time I need some. I don't care for the taste of fennel though, so I order my teas from yogiteas, and get the ones that have a blend of herbs in them, like the stomach ease, I think the chamomile may have fennel in it as well. I blend my teas, because I hate the taste of fennel. Yogi Teas

I'm on my second brand of Fennel tea the first one was called Heath & Heather its the usual brand stocked in health food shops here in the UK but yesterday I bought Dr Stuarts Wild Fennel tea which tastes much stronger, I agree that its an aquired taste!!! but the more I drink it the more bearable it is Helen

My first fennel seeds I purchased in the spice section at the grocery store, very dry. Then I ordered Heather's bulk seeds, much fresher, because it was much more cost effective. I like the flavor so that's not been a problem. I do crush the seeds in a garlic press then put them in my tea ball. It really does settle my stomach down right away and eliminates the gas also. Sometimes I use a little honey in it or a tad of sugar. Good Luck
