I went to the Nurse Practioner yesterday and we sort of decided that I have a muscle strain plus an IBS attack....however, last night I was literally in agony from 10PM to 4AM.(And this has happened every night since last Sunday) I understand that the muscle pain might get worse laying down at night but I also have these "waves" of cramps that are really painful....most of this goes across my stomach when it happens and the muscle strain is in the right side of my upper back (near bottom of rib cage).

Do any of you veterans out there think the cramping is an IBS thing? (It's much more intense than I've experienced in the past year.)

Also I just got my order of Acacia today....is it wise to start it when I'm not sure what's going on? I know none of you are Doctors but I just wondered what you think. Thanks!
Judy

Hmmm, not sure. I'd go back to the doc (or the ER if it happens again at night) and insist they give you the strongest antispasmodic they've got!

And start the Acacia...VERY slowly. If it is the IBS, you want to get on a significant SFS dose asap and if it isn't it won't hurt to do so!

Thanks. I'm thinking this is going on Way too long to be IBS attack but I'll try to give it a couple more nights if I can stand the pain. It only lasted about three hours last night as opposed to 6 or moreon the nights before that!
