Just started to follow directions of this diet and I am into half of the first day of eliminating everything and only eating oatmeal, rice, pasta, etc..., taking the Acacia Fiber Supplement (1/2 teaspon twice daily) and drinking a lot of water. I have experienced a complete bloating and discomfort. Is this normal?!

I would say yes....as your body is probably not used to getting that much soluble fiber. Give it a day or 2 and the bloating should go away. Just stick with the diet and it will help! Try drinking some hot tea in the meantime to help with the bloating!

Hi there!

That is so normal!

Try taking 1/4 or even 1/8 tsp for a few days instead. And make sure you are eating small meals, moving around instead of sitting pretty after meals (not a marathon...but geting up and moving around...say doing ther dishes or a walk with the dog). Drinking tea is helpful like Christianne suggested. Relaxing in general is great! Also...keep a food diary if you like and write down how each food makes you feel.

keep well, and keep posting *hugs*

Oh no not at all. I just hate having IBS and I have been going through flare ups for the past 2 months on and off. I have had it for most of my life and didn't get diagnosed until I was 26. I seem to go through episodes that last anywhere from a couple of days to several months and then I can usually go for a couple of months without it bothering me. I get discouraged when I am not feeling well. I just found this website and the diet makes a lot of sense. So I am going to try my best to follow it. Thanks for your concern I appreciate it. Take care.
