Help...I have a dull pushing feeling on the right side of my abdomen...between belly button and waist. Typically I have IBS-C and have had this type of ache before. But now that I am pregnant, I am worried about it. I have been to the ER in the past for this ache and not appendicitis. I have been told that I have an enlarged appendix...whatever that means. I called the DR, but I am still waiting for a call back. ANy advice? I have had 2 small BM's in the past 24 hours, but wondering if is not enough and I am still C???

Hi,
I had my appendix out after an attack and I can tell you my attack was very, very painful. It wasn't just a dull sensation. I think you would know if it was an attack. My opinion is that it is the "C" causing the feeling.
Also, I would think that an appendix problem would show up on your tests. I really don't know what an enlarged appendix means so can't help you there.

Thanks....I agree, but I am such a worry wart and being pregnant doesn't help. I figured that an appendix attack is pretty painful, but I wasn't sure. I still called into the dr to see what she says. I'll let you know.

I never had appendicitis...but a doc thought I did once when I had the worst GI infection ever (the one that gave me IBS ). I was vomiting, had D and was on the floor, doubled over and drifting in and out of consciousness b/c of the pain. If it's a "dull" sensation, I wouldn't worry and blame the C. Can you up your SFSs?

Thank you guys for the support. I got a call from my dr (who probably thinks I am a dork now ) but she said that it is either growing pains(which I don't remember from last time) or the IBS. She recommended heating pad and fiber. I just ordered some Acacia, so I hope that helps. I worry too much....................

You're among the best worriers ever!!!! I hear someone sneeze and I think I have a cold
I'm glad it's NOT your appendix and that you're ok... *hugs*
Keep well!

It is okay to worry when you are pregnant. Any ache and pain you think, "oh no is there something wrong with my baby". I worried with all three pregnancies.
I experienced the same pains as you are while pregnant. My doctor told me is was from stretching muscles and I thought the same thing, the doctor must have thought I was a dork.
Glad to hear everything is okay. Congrats. on your pregnancy.

I'd guess it's the IBS too. Appendicitis hurts like LABOUR. And you cant walk straight upright.
