I wouldn't, but that's just me... as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as a low-fat fried food, they all just *kill* me. Also, if you're not stable yet, you want to be REALLY careful and avoid trigger foods, they're just asking for trouble.

But are you sure they are fried? Because if they are low in fat they might not be; they really can't be fried.
Try summer rolls or fresh spring rolls at a restaurant sometime. Yum.

I eat baked eggrolls that I get from a health food store, but you have to be careful, because most are fried.

Ashley, what brand are they, or does your HFS make them? I've seen in Heather's book that she recommends getting egg rolls and baking them yourself, but I can never find them.

Hi girls..
I just looked at the bag in my fridge and they are called LING LING's all natural spring rolls/egg rolls. (and have a picture of a panda on the front.)
they have chicken and veg, veg and tofu etc.
Anyways.. I get them at wildoats which is a grocery store like whole foods.
I also sometimes buy eggrolls at trader joes and bake them. They have low fat content and low calories as well.

Do you mean under 20% or under 20 grams? 20% is good; 20 grams is NOT. You can find fresh/unfried rolls at Thai restaurants as appetizers.

Take the fat calories and divide it into the total calories. That will give you the fat percent. For example, if something is 160 calories and is 80 fat calories, it would be 50% fat. If something is 120 calories and 15 fat calories, it would be 12.5%.
Does that make sense?

In my examples from above:
Quote:
For example, if something is 160 calories and is 80 fat calories, it would be 50% fat.
80 ÷ 160 = 0.50 or 50% (This would be something NOT ok)
If something is 120 calories and 15 fat calories, it would be 12.5%.
15 ÷ 120 = 0.125 ot 12.5% (This is safe)
So, you just have to eat foods that are no more than 25%, or 30% but that's getting up there.
HTH!
