Anyone Else's Symptoms worse in the mornings??

I seem to have the worst of it in the morning. I feel okay when I get up, then I go walk my dogs, and when I sit down to breakfast I am hit with the WORST cramps, ALWAYS have a bout of D and then I can get on with the rest of my day **almost** symptom free.
Anyone else have really sensitive bowels in the morning???

Alot of people on here (inc. me when I feel iffy) have to have a pre-breakfast...just a small amount of SF or their tums go into shock when they have breakfast. Personally, I also have to have something to eat before I go anywhere or I'm ill...if I want to walk the dogs before breakfast I grab a cracker or ADB or something else small on the way out.

my stomach is very sensitive and upset in the morning, although I am most bloated at night towards the end of the day at work. I get my worst attacks in the middle of the night 2 or 3am.

... early morning and late night. My tummy is super painful when I wake up and within an hour it goes away. Then, I seem to go through the day just fine and about 10:30 or 11pm, my tummy starts to really hurt again. I've been wondering if it's something I've eaten late at night, so I'll have to examine that.

I find the pre-breakfast thing in the morning really helps, as LInz mentioned. Before I do anything in the morning I have a toasted english muffin and a cup of tea with acacia, just kind of hanging out and waking up in the kitchen. That helps. I also eat some good SF about an hour before going to bed - the less time you have to have an empty stomach the better, the way I see it.
I'm definitely on my way to stabilizing now but for me it kind of went - feeling sick all day, feeling sick (D) in just the mornings and being able to go on with my day just fine, to only occassionally having D in the mornings and only very rarely at other times (usually due to triggers) - which is where I'm at now.

Yes. The first 90 minutes I'm awake are the worst, even when I'm stable (like I seem to be lately-yay ) I've started taking breakfast to work with me, because if I don't, it will take even longer than usual to get out the door.

I totally get morning attacks, especially if I'm woken up with a jolt! The trick is to start your day slooooowly. Not practical for everybody in the 21st century world, but it'll go a long way towards making you stable.
Try staying in bed for an hour after you wake up, vegging out and watching a little tv. I do this now, and when I do roll over and sit upright in bed, my bowels have had time to adjust to my waking phase, and everything isn't going 100 miles per hour inside of me. I don't usually have an attack if I take it super slow like this, and I swear by this method especially during the week when I have to be somewhere in the morning!
OK, sometimes it does mean getting up at 6 instead of 7, but there's a lot on tv at 6am! LOL! The slower I start my day, the less urgent and painful my attacks are. It really works, and if you keep tylenol-3 or imodium by your bed in case you get the first pangs of an attack, you can nip it in the bud without jumpstarting your tummy by dashing across the room to the medicine cabinet.
Also, you can reduce night attacks by not wearing anything around your waist (undies, pajama bottoms, really! LOL! ), and by not eating for 3 hours before bedtime. Hope this helps! Good luck to you--

Mine typically do, too, but if it's been a bad night, sometimes they won't have gone away by the time I wake up.
Here it is, 2pm and I'm perfectly fine. But come 10:30 or 11pm, I'll be in pain.

No I have pretty much given up on all SFSs at the moment. Just taking magnesium (400 mg a day) and triphala herb. Don't notice a difference one way or another. I've tried increasing IF and walking everyday.
What are you taking again, for your C?

I'm taking:
Noni Juice - 2 tbsp, 2x/day Probiotic - 2x/day Acacia - 1 tsp/day Citrucel - 6g (12 pills)/day Omega 3:6:9 - 2 pills, 2x/day Peppermint Caps (with fennel & ginger) - 3-4 pills/day Miralax OR Magnesium - 1 capfull OR 1000-2000mg IBX: Soothing Bowel Formula - 2 pills, 2x/day
This combo has given me the best results that I've had so far. I'm probably in more *pain* than I was before I started all this, but the C isn't bad and there's virtually no bloating. I guess you trade one for another sometimes...
I think that's about it... am still waiting on my new med from the GI to arrive in the mail. I will keep you updated on how that works...

Oh, goodness...YES!
Whether I eat or not, whether I get up 3 hours early, or in barely enough time, no matter what I do, I always have D in the mornings when I am trying to leave the house.
I am one of those people who is compulsively on time (and by that, I mean early...hehe) and this is just killing me! I'm late to things I just *can't* be late for. I have to dash back for the garage to use the bathroom *again*, and I often have to stop 3 and 4 times on a 2 mile drive, and then rush in to the bathroom when I get there. It's so embarassing, because I have always considered being late one of the most disrespectful things, ever.

I'm pretty sure this has aloe vera in it which is BAD You may already know this, but I felt I needed to point this out if you didn't realize it yet.
Aloe isn't recommended.
Hmm, wonder why you are in more pain with all this? Perhaps it is too much SFS and miralax causing you all the pain. I agree that I would rather have either pain or constipation instead of both of them.

Just a quick check...
I hadn't heard about aloe being bad, although I never would have considered eating it. There is no problem with external use of aloe though, right? I went to buy Baby Oil the other day, and the only Johnson baby oil they had said "With Aloe and Vitamin E" and I bought it because I thought Aloe would help the burn and Vit E would help the scarring. There is no problem with that, right?
It may be a silly question...but I just thought I would check...

Thanks so much. I'm working my way through the "Research Library" section (and other medical sources) but it's allot to take in. I've got the dining room table covered with open medical books. (Currently about IBS and about burn treatment). I'm always researching something, LOL.

I love it too. And *try* my best to live by it.
I started using it first a couple years ago, when I was in serious pain from another medical condition. It's always hard not to sink into that "poor me, oh well, the day is wasted already, I won't even get out of bed" type of thought. Some days, excruciatingly hard.
But, in that instance, I started doing better (and feeling better) on the days I did *something*, even if it was to meet a friend for tea for just half an hour. That made the day worth it. (Because that was the *whole* day for me then.)
Then "this" IBS thing happened. And it was back to the same cycle of being brave enough to go out, even if I had to leave 100 times because of D (only barely an exaggeration). I'm working, and I'm trying. But...I'm living!
It helps me to have that as my sig. Makes me accountable to my own philosophy, hehe.

Thanks for the thoughts on aloe. I'm trying to stop taking the IBX stuff, but it has really made me feel so much better... well, I'm just waiting on that new medicine to come in and then (hopefully) I will not need any of it!

Mornings are worse than evenings unless I'm about to have an attack but in the general scheme of things I'm always running late cause I was too scared to leave my loo!
