I have a problem with constipation. When I have a BM it always feels like there is still some left but it won't come out! And I always have pain in my stomach (Like when you have the runs but of course I dont) Has anyone out there had this problem? And were you able to get rid of it?

I have found that SFS helps me immensely with the feeling of incomplete evacuation. Are you currently taking one?

It's my understanding that a "feeling of incomplete evacuation" (lovely phrase) is one of the classic IBS symptoms. I had it chronically for a long time, but it's disappeared over the past several months, presumably because I've been on Heather's diet and am taking an SFS (acacia).

Darlene-
You took the words right outta' my mouth. I am C also and when I have a BM I feel like there is more in there- They say the pains are "spasms"- I always have lower abdominal pain- Below my belly button. Is this where you are talking about also?

Have you been taking it long? If not, it does take some time. I have been taking acacia since January and it took a couple months before the feeling went away. And I do still get it from time to time.

This symptom gradually left me after a while on SFSs.

The pain is usually cramps or gas...try peppermint or fennel tea for it, and geat pads.

I have only been on it less than a week. I also wonder is there a good time to take it. Like before bed or in the morning?

Give the SFS time...it'll take quite a while to see the full effect.

The best thing to do is to space your doses out through the day as much as possible.

Heat pads are something that can be heated up so you can apply warmth to your tum (or whereever). Heather sells some scientific ones...or make your own by filling a cloth parcel (or old sock) with rice and any essential oils you want. Then microwave for a couple of minutes to heat it.

I know exactly what you mean. I have been taking Citricul before every meal and had great luck with that. I am also finding that drinking plenty of water and walking has helped with the still have to go feeling. I have the pain, but my heating pad or a fuzzy puppy snuggled up next to the belly seems to help.

I have only been taking one tablespoon a day so far. And does all the peppermint tea I am drinking count the same as drinking water? I am a receptionist and I just cant go when I want to!

All clear liquids count as water intake, so all herbal teas are fine.

Thanks, I was hoping it would go away quickly but at least I have some kind of time frame to go on.

It's funny, until you brought up the whole "incomplete evacuation" thing, I hadn't really thought about the fact it was gone - it just gradually diminished until, poof. It's a good reminder to me to be grateful - I hated that feeling.

I've been on Heather's diet and SFS since about last August, but I fell off badly from November to December , if that helps with your time frame.

Good luck.
