Hi everyone! I'm new here. I have been reading the board for a few weeks and have gotten a lot of good ideas for controlling my IBS. I am 24, divorced, with 3 daughters. I have had stomach problems since I was little and was diagnosed with IBS-D in September 2004 after a colonoscopy. Right now I am trying to control my IBS-D with calcium, Citrucel, and I may start Heather's diet. I just want to be normal, be able to travel, and not disappoint my kids when we can't go anywhere because mom doesn't feel well. I have enjoyed reading your posts and I hope to get to know you all better.

Welcome! This is a great place. I have found that Heather's diet works wonders but you have to kind of play around with what works for you. The books offer tons of information and there is a lot of support on the boards. Good luck!

I've also seen a world of difference since I've started Heather's diet. It's definitely worth giving a shot. I LOVE her IBS diet recipe book -so many yummy things!, and there's great stuff on the recipe exchange board, too.

I'm a C er, but sometimes a D...but I wish for the D days, sometimes.

I'm 26, have 3 kids and have IBS A but mostly get D. (My doc reckons I'm IBS D but I get C from a lot of meds so I call myself an A). I also hate disappointing the kids when I can't go anywhere for fear of not being able to find a loo or having a pain attack and not being able to sit or lie down or drive home. Welcome to the boards
