I am confused about something- IS it possible for a person to not have a problem eating whole wheat bread- but to eat whole grain cereal such as Honey nut cheerios- causes symptoms. Whole grain cereal and whole wheat bread are both IF, correct???

Yes, everyone is different. It also depends on what type of IBS you have, either D,C or A. I have real trouble with brown rice, gives me gas and bloating and I also have trouble with honey nut cheerios, far too much IF for me - but others on this board can handle them fine! So it really is a case of trial and error and finding out what you can or cannot eat etc......

Whole wheat bread contains equal amounts of whole wheat flour and white flour, if not actually being heavier on the white flour - you can't make bread out of *nothing* but whole wheat, it would be like eating a brick. Sooo... it's possible that there's enough soluble in the bread to cushion the whole wheat. Cereals, well, you'll never know how the heck they make those. LOL!
