Would someone please give me the ratio to fat/calories with foods that do and do not have the caloreis from fat listed and an example of how to figure it. I can't remember how to do it and I can't find it on the board. I would be ever so grateful..........

I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but ...

If the label lists Calories and Calories From Fat, divide Calories From Fat by Calories to get the percent of calories from fat. For example:

Calories = 150
Calories From Fat = 25
Percent of Calories From Fat = 17% (25/150= .166666)

I think it's easier to figure out how many fat calories I want and work backwards. So...
If I want to be sure my food is 25% of calories from fat or less, I take 25% of 150 (divide 150 by 4) and get 37.5. As long as the food gets no more than 37.5 Calories From Fat, I'm in good shape.
If I want to be sure my food is 20% of calories from fat or less, I take 20% of 150 (divide 150 by 5) and get 30. As long as the food gets no more than 30 Calories From Fat, I'm in good shape.

If the label lists Calories but not Calories From Fat, you calculate Calories From Fat by multiplying Fat Grams by 9 (each gram of fat has 9 calories).

I'm afraid I'm making this sound harder than it really is. If this doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll try again.
