I don't typically get "burning" pain with my IBS. Have you been checked to be sure its not GERD or an ulcer?

actually I am trying to find out if anyone else has this, not for me, I am usually bloating, but for my friend. She had a hystorectomy 2 yrs ago now and ever since has had this burning in her stomach. She has had a scope and they see that the lower half of the stomach is inflamed and that was it! No other help really, a few drugs that didn't do anything and here she is 2 years later with this constant burning. The doc. has told her she probably has ibs but she is resistent to that thinking! She is starting to come round and I am trying to get her onto the ibs diet. Meanwhile though, anyone else out there with this sort of pain would certainly help my cause in convincing her to consider this way of eating! Thanks for your reply, neeta

Well any inflammtion is NOT symptomatic of IBS. I've think GERDs or pos even an IBD.
What drugs has she tried? Has she tried a PPI like Nexium?
The doc mustn't leave her like that with inflammation! Even GERDs, untreated, can cause serious complications. I'd say that she needs to get a second opinion ASAP!
