I've heard that using straws can exacerbate gas symptoms (from swallowing air, I guess). This is a bit confusing to me though, since I thought straws worked by creating an air vacuum. I actually really like drinking with straws (even slightly cooled fennel tea!) as it's safer when I'm driving and causes less staining on the teeth. But I also want to make sure it's not exacerbating GI symptoms. Anyone have any information on this? Thanks! tmc
