Wow!!! I have suffered for 4 years with IBS. At first when I went to the gastro doctor, he told me that it was all in my head. Well, it was not in my head, it was the other end that was the problem. My IBS is diarrhea with severe cramping. I could eat and then WHAM!! I am looking for the bathroom. The troubling thing to me was that I was only 28 years old, and had to always worry about where the next bathroom was. My husband joked and said that he knew every public restroom within a 15 mile radius of home. I finally found a doctor that treated my IBS with medication, and tried to figure out what really triggered the attacks. The problem was that even with the changes to diet and the medicine, I was still having bowel problems. Worst of all, the medication made me so sleepy, that I had to take a nap in the day or I would nearly pass out. Frustrated and doomed to a life of sleeping my days away, I happened on this web site. The problem with IBS is that Gastro doctors do not want to control the disorder with diet. They want to give you a prescription, and make your next appointment. This site has truly changed my life. After reading several articles and understanding and finding the foods that I can eat, I have been off my medication for a week now. I am actually reclaiming my life. I can take my son to the park and not worry that I will have to make a mad dash to the port-a-potty. It is so funny how one simple, crazy thing can change your life. Honeycomb cereal is now my new best friend!! Thank you so much for this site. I could never express my gratitude for the change it has made in me. Thank you!!!

Thank you. It is wonderful to find a site like this. You really cannot understand how horrible IBS is until you have suffered from it yourself, or seen a loved one wrestle with it daily. My husband is so excited that I have fould a way to help control the symptoms. From now on it's peppermint tea and Honeycomb cereal for me!
