Getting sick going to work

Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with my problem of making myself sick before I go to work for many different reasons. I was wondering what I could do? Chamomile tea makes me sleepy and peppermint seems to upset my GI system. I tried snacking on homemade rice pudding to make sure that I had something in my sytem. I have IBS-D for the last 13 years!

I used to have the same problem every morning. What helped me is a combo of things - working out in the am, taking fiber supplement in am, following Eating for IBS, and hypno cd's. And I usually have a cup of either peppermint, honey peach ginger, or tummy mint tea.

And welcome to the board!

Hi Robyn- maybe it's stressing you because you aren't giving yourself enough time in the morning to get ready. You could try getting up 15 minutes earlier and doing some deep breathing or easy yoga moves to relax. I'm a firm believer in the mind-body connection- maybe your body is telling you this job is not right for you??If you are getting attacks ONLY on mornings you go to work, that seems to be pointing to stress as a trigger. Something to consider...I also found peppermint AND fennel tea to upset my GI, so you are not alone there. Good luck!!

Robyn, a couple of things you should read. In the morning when you wake up, a chemical called cortisol is Higher in the body in the mornings.

However, it is worth reading these.
