Hi all. I had to take a short course of antibiotics two weeks ago for a sinus infection. About one week ago, I started taking Culturelle because the Cephalexin gave me really bad D. Anyhow, I am not having true D now, but going to the bathroom an awful lot, and it is crampy when I have to go. I also have tons of gas and bloating. A friend who is into natural health suggested that I am probaly having a "cleansing" reaction from the Culturelle. She said that if you have yeast in your digestive tract, then the Culturelle will kill it, and the die-off causes you to feel sick for a week or two. Anyone ever heard of/experienced this? I don't want to quit with the probiotics, but I am thinking of switiching to the Natren dairy-free products on her recommedation. Replies appreciated!

If you're having probiotics in dairy, it's much more likely to be the dairy that's doing the damage! Cut that out immediately!

I can't believe it! I got on Culturelle's website, and the stuff is in a casein base! I am ordering the Natren dairy-free right now. I am usually not plagues with bad pain, but I was so bad last night I had to leave church early. One I got all the bm out of my system, I felt better, but my gut is sore today, like it is recoivering from a charley horse.

On top of a dodgy tum, that would do the trick for me! You need to be extra careful while you're recovering from the antibiotics. Lots of SF!
