new to site

I am new to this site but have been suffering from ibs for over a year now. I am very misserable and trying to learn how to control my ibs threw diet sence nothing else has worked for me. I honestly felt like i was alone. I was glad to find heathers site and got her book. now just look to be able to talk to people who know how i feel. My husband is great but he does not really understand although he trys to be supportive.

Its always good to have some support, and the guys on this board are absolutely brilliant! Every one understands completely what you are going through, as my family don't understand although they do try - its nice to talk to people of a like mind...welcome

Welcome to the site!! My hubby took awhile to come around but now that he sees that I am better after following Heather's diet he is a lot more supportive. I think they just tend to want to fix things for us woman and when they realize they can't fix the IBS they get frustrated which can come off as unsupportive. And nobody can be as supportive as someone who knows exactly what you are going through. And we all know what you are going through so lean on us if you need to and ask questions if you need to. That is what we are here for.

I was also thrilled to have found this site. My husband also tries to understand, but he just doesn't! He is very supportive, but it is nice to get support by people who truly understand what you are going through!
