I've been reasonably well for a couple of weeks now and so I thought I would be a bit adventurous for my tea. I had chicken curry with boiled rice, broccoli, cauliflower and naan bread. I ate the rice and naan bread first as I thought that they were good SF, but now within half an hour of eating it, all of my tummy feels as though it is going to expode!!! Anyone know where I have gone wrong, cos usually I don;t have this much pain. Is it because I have been good and kept to the diet. Ow it really hurts

Maybe to much cauliflower and broccoli. They are known to cause gas.

Yeah, broccoli especially is very difficult for me to eat. Also, did you check the naan for dairy, HFCS or high-fat levels?

Some naan has dairy.. and some curry- most from what I know is made with ghee- a form of butter...

Yup... most of what you get in a restaurant has ghee in it... and the naan is most likely made with yogurt. A lot of the sauces contain yogurt as well, it's what makes them creamy.
I can do Indian just fine, but I usually make it myself. That's pretty much the only way you can be 100% sure that it's safe.

thanks for responding. I am just going to have to start reading labels and stuff, have never done that up to now,but thanks for all your tips. An update, went to bed in absolute pain last night, woke up this am with a lot of gas and up to now nothing has happened in the toilet department. Going to Head Office today for training, its bound to happen there. Thanks again

Its a pain going to the supermarket for the first few times to read all the ingredients on things, but I've got it down to a fine art now!! I nearly know exactly what I can/can't have...skip the chocolate aisle usually too but if it means I stay stable - its all good!

Hi Angie, Whilst browsing I read about your eating nan along with other things. Speaking from my own experience Nan usually gives you bloating and/or diarrhoea especially if you dring water immediately. To be on the safe side I avoid nan eating completely. Jennifer
