My complaints include constipation and flatulence. Recently I tried colon cleansing products. They were easy and amazing. I obviously needed them. Has anyone else tried them?

I have remained on their fiber and take some every morning.

I am also drinking eaters digest tea by Traditional Medicinals (it contains ginger, peppermint, fennel and an assortment of other things). I drink several cups a day, especially after meals and I am really impressed so far. It is doing some good things.

I also have an appointment scheduled with a hyponosis next week. We shall see.

I want to beat this thing.

Any thoughts?

...they can backfire with IBS as the IBS can mean you have an over-the-top response, triggering an attack(s).

Also, the website you mentioned talks alot about parasitical infections and the product helping those. This is one thing that people should be tested for before getting an IBS diagnosis anyway!

The fibre and the tea sound great...I'm glad they#'re helping. Good luck with the hypno!

What SFS are you taking and how much? I suffer from severe gas pains after I eat (anything) and I need to do something. I was on Miralax but it did not seem to work - is that a SFS? HELP I am desparate for advice!

I am pretty sure that Moralax is a stool softener which can help C. I have just posted a link to Heather's notes on SFSs...please read them.

Also are you following the additional diet guidelines like having lots of small meals/snacks throughout the day instead of just 3 big meals? And do you drink fennel tea?

I have just ordered acacia from this website and am anxious to begin trying - hoping this will eliminate some of my gas pains after I eat. I still do not understand how acacia 2 times a day could eliminate gas pains after all of my meals. Any advice???

I'm just going to throw in a reply. Acacia does not treat gas per se. It only keeps you regular and helps your intestines to operate happily. It is just soluble fiber and not a drug of any kind. In fact many times taking SFS at first causes some gas as you get used to it. So no it will not stop your gas pains. But hopefully it will get you stable and that will stop gas and bloating.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

A SFS is very helpful to stabilise you and then keep you stable. If you're stable, you'll have less symptoms all round. So you need to think longer-term than just from one meal to the next.

I am an IBS-Cer, and have tried several of the SFS supplements. Although, I had some success with Benefiber and Acacia, I still experienced a lot of bloating. I am now trying Citrucel, and am having greater success, especially with the lack of bloating. Perhaps you should give this a try.

When I receive the acacia I will begin with 1/4 teasp 2 times per day - I do not want to take too much too soon. After a couple of days do you suggest that I go to 1/2 teas 2 times per day or is that too soon??? I do not want to get gassier!

I'd give it 3 days to 1 week between changes to be extra safe.
