The answer is no, it's not okay to cheat even if you're so stable you haven't had D in over a year like me.

I indulged in a very small portion of red meat Saturday night. I was okay Sat and Sun but yesterday and today my tummy has been yelling at me like crazy. I've had cramping, gas, pain, urgency, etc. At one point I was sure I was going to have D -- but I didn't so my streak continues. But I've probably taken 4 Imodium in the past 24 hours!!

BTW, my mother has tummy trouble too, although she refuses to admit it's IBS and said she tried an SFS and it "didn't work for her." But she takes Imodium, too. So I asked her recently how much she could take in a day without getting stopped up completely. She said more than 4 tablets would run the risk of getting C for her (she takes two tablets as her normal dose, so that would be two doses in one day). That's pretty consistent with my experience so it was nice to hear it validated.

So -- DON'T CHEAT!!! (Unless you're into self-sabotage, self-destruction, denial or masochism!)

I'm feeling all bloated and ucky cos I had a bag of Hula Hoops with MSG in them. Urgh. Usually I'm okay with one bag (and for some reason they can help if I'm feeling migrainey which is why I occasionally eat them) as I'm more tolerant of fat than many people, but I guess the third bag in a week was one too many. Sigh.

Just thought I'd add this to LauraSue's post to show that us old-timers do get it wrong sometimes!
