Hi Everyone,

I have learned that most of my trigger foods are high in iron. Eliminating these foods from my diet has caused my hemoglobin to plummet. Has anyone had the same issue? What did you do?

I've always had problems with low iron for some unknown reason. I had to get iron shots in the behind once/week for a couple of months until it went back up.

Your doctor should do a blood test to see how low it really is and then he/she will be able to recommend the best way to increase it again. There are different methods depending on how low your iron is. If you take too much iron it can cause serious problems too so I'd see your doc before trying to fix it yourself!!

I did find a website that suggested food for those with low iron. Several "safe" cereals are on the list. I will start with that...I sure can't be eating spinach every day! Oh the horror!

Hopefully the cereals will help until I get to the doctor.

Have a great day!
