I had my second visit with the chiro this morning. SHe has taken xrays at my last visit. Turns out I have a bad kind in my lower back with some scar tissue around it. The kink just happens to be sitting on the nerves that control the bowels. I didn't tell her about the IBS - she asked based on the xrays if I had trouble. I had a really good adjustment, and my morning tummy ache went away within 10 mintues. She also gave me some stretching exercises. Perhaps I am just grasping at straws or having the placebo effect, but I feel better than I have in ages!

I've been seeing a chiropractor for a number of years. While my IBS hasn't gone away... it certainly has improved, especially since I've been going to my current chiro (I moved out of state). It's amazing how the health of your spine can affect other things. My problems are mostly in my neck... did you know that the main nerve supply to your colon originates in your neck?

...but I do know with my Fibro stuff that there are trigger points in the back that can cause nausea and tummy aches! So I guess it makes alot of sense.

Glad to hear you are feeling better! I see a chiropractor every two weeks! It hasn't cured my IBS but it certainly makes me feel better!

they haven't cured my ibs by far and I doubt it will, but it has helped.. and it has definitely helped my upper back and lower back problems.. mine asked about tummy issues as well when he saw the x-rays.
