causes extreme bloating and gas for me...it has a tendency to have a laxative effect as well. I would suggest staying away from it!

is used as an artifical sweetener.. its not as bad as maltitol, but its definitely nasty to most of us IBS'ers.. and even to some normal folks.. those sugar alcohols can be laxitives in healthy people... especially when taken in too large a quantity (a friends mom spent hours on the can after having 2-3 cups of maltitol sweetened ice cream instead of just a little bit one night!)

Sorbitol is an artificial sweetner used in many sugar-free foods, candy, etc. It is also in some vitamins & OTC meds like Advil liquigels!
My opinion is to stay as far away from it as possible. It is a big trigger for me and gives me "D", gas & cramps.
