I'm usually not one that likes to take medication BUT I am going through a very difficult menopause and started taking prozac 3 weeks ago. Well, my IBS is like 100% better!! Anyone else feel that anti-depressants work for them? It makes sense that it would work, doesn't it?

I just started on Norpramin last week. I think this is in a different class of antidepressants. I was reluctant at first because I didn't understand why my GI doc would be precribing this for my IBS symptoms. At first I didn't notice much change, but over the past couple of days I have had virtually no gas or bloating. Like I said, it's only been a week, but if I had to judge these drugs based on how I feel now - I think they are working WONDERFULLY - though I don't really understand why.
