I miss cheese soooooooo much!!! I had tried a brand of rice cheese, thinking that it would be safe (i cannot tolerate soy) but had a pretty bad reaction to it and bloated up terribly!

When i read the ingredients, i noticed it had casein in it which is milk protein. I am assuming this was the problem!

Does anyone know of a rice cheese that does not have casen in it? I am having a very difficult time finding it and wonder if such a thing exists?

I appreciate any help anyone can give me regarding this! Thank you so very much!

Well here's the deal with Casein. It is a milk protein and will cause bloating and gas. With that said, the soy cheese or rice cheeses that DON't contain casein taste terrible. It's the lesser of two evils here - better have the casein than a full blown dairy product. If you're sensitive to it, try small amounts and with plenty of soluble fibre.

for rice cheese without casein and have yet to find one. I honestly don't think one exists, unfortunately. So, I do without any.

If you find one, post the name please!

There is a kind of almond "cheddar" cheese available that is dairy free. I can't remember the name since my store stopped carrying it! it is low in fat too. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi Augie- thanks for posting! I am having such a hard time finding it too.....so i will also do without any cheese-like-products. Let me know if you find one and i will definitely do the same! I think you may be right about it not existing, but we can always hope!

<Sigh!> Thank you, Alicia....unfortunately i am very sensitive to the milk protein, so i am afraid that i am better without any of the rice cheeses. The last time i tried it was on bread as a small sandwich and i had a horrifically painful reaction!

Thank you for the information- i really appreciate it!
