I am doing really well on the diet except for the evenings when I am watching TV or on the computer. In the "old" days I used to munch on huge bowls of popcorn. Now the only snacks that seem to be available are ff crackers or pretzels or sugary stuff which I would like to avoid because of the higher calories. Yes, I looked over the link on snacks but most of the suggestions are still starchy or sugary.
What does everyone else munch on during the evenings? Maybe I should do my exercising then instead of in the morning so I wouldn't want to snack.
Thanks, Cindy

Yeah, all the snacks I can think of are starchy or sugary. I had to train myself out of wanting an evening snack... I eat dinner a *little* bit later (7 instead of 6), and I make sure to eat enough that I'm actually really full. Then I plan on having a cup of Teeccino (my coffee sub of choice) with sugar and rice milk, which is sweet enough to satisfy a snacky craving without being as high in calories as a bag of pretzels.
I've also found - if you can find them near you - tea biscuits. The brand I get is Sabba. They're lightly vanilla flavored not-too-sweet cookies, and they're 16 calories & 1/2g fat apiece. Sometimes I have a few of those with tea. Still sugary/starchy, but still better than cake!

I've been trying to find Teeccino locally and haven't found it yet. But that makes sense. Sometimes when I've gotten home late after a class (dog obedience or agility class) I've been satisfied with a cup of decaf and a chocolate/peppermint Luna bar. yum. I'll have to try to stick to that instead of munching all evening. Cindy

If you like apples...do a search for Baked Apples. They're IBS safe and super yummy. I've made them without the sugar--just the cinnamon...and apples are sweet enough that ya don't need the sugar. Just a thought If you like hot drinks, do a search for Chai Latte or flag down Kree. She has a recipe for this that sounds fab (I don't use sugar...it makes me sick. But I don't think it has too much of it in the recipe). You can also have hot chocolate with soy milk/rice milk. You can also get table crackers/water crackers. I think Carr makes them? Not sure what the caloric content is...but I think it's pretty low. If I think of anything else, I'll let ya know. Good luck! *hugs*
