What are your IBS "must haves" that are automatically on your grocery list when you go shopping? I finally arranged for my father to take my shopping, so I can buy IBS friendly stuff, but now I need advice!
So far, I have: Soda crackers, soup stock, couscous (and other pastas) oatmeal, rice milk (I've never tried this before, I don't like soymilk) baked beans (I can tolerate these, thankfully) Rice crackers, soy cheese
Anything else you'd recommend?

I'm more D, but I always get plain bagels. Also, low fat spaghetti sauce with veggies (Prego Garden Combination is what I get, which only has 1.5 g fat per 1/2 cup serving), peanut butter (if you can tolerate it, I like Peter Pan creamy with honey, it's a little less fat than regular creamy), and seedless strawberry jelly (since I'm a strawberry freak). You might also want to try some canned or frozen veggies so that you can safely add some of those into your diet. Oh, and unsweetened applesauce is also fantastic, for eating and for baking. Ok, I'm going to stop now, I could so keep going....

Your list looks a lot like mine. My staples are:
vanilla rice milk for tea & drinking
plain soy milk for cooking
chicken breasts, bone-in and skinless/boneless
redbush (rooibus) tea
canned peaches
oatmeal
"cooking" bananas (I buy them overripe - half price & no waiting for them to ripen!)
graham crackers - plain and chocolate
*sometimes* bakery bread, although more often flour and yeast to make my own
fresh or frozen carrots
potatoes

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Yeah, mine looks a lot the same too...
fresh french bread from the bakery
rice crackers or rice cakes
melba toast and bread sticks
plain bagels
english muffins
applesauce
oatmeal
potatoes and sweet potatoes, turnips sometimes too
carrots
zucchini
chicken breasts
salmon, cod
egg whites
soymilk (if you're trying rice milk, Rice Dream is my *favourite*... I use soymilk because I like it just as well but it has lots more protein and calcium in it)
soy cheese (really good if you don't expect it to taste exactly like cheese! lol)
hummus
salsa
pasta
white rice (I buy Uncle Ben's 5 minute stuff, it comes precooked all you do is soak it in boiling water... WAY too easy! )
rice krispies
boxed rice krispie squares if my sweet tooth gets the better of me
peppermint tea
hmmm that's all I can think of for now... Hope that helps a bit! There's nothing better for IBS (imho) than having safe foods close by at all times. Good luck!
Laurel.

I see you listed popcorn, which prior to IBS, was one of my favorite foods, however, I stopped eating it because of the little kernel shells that are still left with the white popped part.
Do you really eat popcorn and feel okay? Any particular brand?
thanks

What kind of lentils and chickpeas do you buy? Are they canned or dry?
Also are the lentils red or normal white color?
Thanks

Tina, have you tried the mini-chefs stuff that PC just came out with? They have some pretty tasty fruit leathers, and some good looking arrowroot crackers that I've been meaning to pick up!
