You had posted a question on one of the post, about Interstitial Cystitis. I thought I would just start a new post instead of bringing back that big post.

I was diagnosed with IC about three years ago, I would have almost constant pain in my bladder area (middle abdomen just above pubic bone), I had the test done where they insert a tiny camera up your urethra, that was not painful because I was put out, and it was midly uncomfortable for the majority of the day afterward. What was more painful was they had to inject my bladder with liquid before the other test and that did hurt while they were putting the catheter in.

I really had not found a good treatment for the IC, I did not want to take medicines for it, as I did not feel it was too debilitating, there were times when it really hurt, and I found the best medicine were the OTC bladder infection medicines, they would numb the area. Also sex was (and still is at times) very painful, felt like a knife stabbing me inside.

The funny think is that I asked my GI doctor about IC, said that I had been diagnosed with it and if there might be a connection to the IBS, he said that a lot of doctors don't believe the IC is a good diagnosis and that most cases are really IBS. I don't know if I believe that or not. I have noticed that since I've been following this diet that my IC has been feeling a bit better, but I still feel pain there often, and it is definitely different from the pain I get in my bowels, so who knows. I am far from being stable with the IBS, and now I have a Ovarian Cyst, which could be some of the pain in that I am associating with my bladder, having that check out via ultrasound tomorrow, so will hopefully know more then.
