I started taking Pamine on December 23, 2004. So far, it has really helped my IBS-D. I've been able to pretty much eat "normally." However, I can't shake this fear that the meds will stop working or my body will become used to them. If they've been working for this long, should they continue to work? Has anyone had any past experiences of something like that occuring?

Hi Lobstress

I don't recognize this medication name... what is the generic name of the drug? Is it an antispasmodic?

I'm on an antispasmodic called Colese (or Colofac) and find that it helps some days not others. I haven't been on it long enough to know but I know that with some of the herbal stuff I've taken I have slowly gotten used to it and had to give it a rest for a while then when I take it again it works again. Don't know if the same applies to prescription meds tho.

An antispasmodic like Pamine should work forever, no problem. I take Bentyl every day and it has made a huge difference for me too. I consider it as something my body can't make for itself, like insulin for diabetics, and plan to take it cheerfully and willingly the rest of my life!

Glad you found something that works. Now relax and enjoy it!
